It is one thing to grasp the idea that everything around us that we percieve with the five senses is nothing more than thought, it is quite another to experience it as real. The latter fills us with wonder.
I am so grateful for this absurdity we call life. This life that is both meaningless and awe inspiring at the same time. What is this wonder filled universe...there are no words that can describe the perpetual beuaty. The ineffefable solitude of the wondrous mindbody as it dances in a cosmic dance of immediecy on a movie set shared with and created with other sentient beings.
Oh how I wish all of you could see beyond the story you have so immersed yourself in, for far too many of you have immersed yourself in a sad story of suffering. There is no reason for this if you know that it is all just a story, every circumstance of your life is a story, and you can write your own story.
First you have to see though, and you have to see it for yourself in all its absurdity. For this you need changes in your state of awareness, in other words changes in your point of view, your perspective. This is what meditation is for. Meditation breaks the chain of habitual thought patterns you are having. With practice Meditation can and will alter your state of awareness much like some drugs do. In eastern languages words like samadhi are used to describe higher states of awareness brought about by meditation. But it should be made clear that samadhi is a tool you aquire with practice, it is a means not an end. It is a means to observe yourself from a differant perspective, the goal of which is to liberate yourself from your own story if you are not happy with your story.
When you become personally aware that everything is only thought then you realize the absurdity of both happiness and sadness, but you are here so you might as well choose happiness all the time. Why be sad and feel bad unless that is your preferance.
Another thing you realize is that other sentient beings are having thoughts and creating their own world and that amazingly we are often creating interconnected thought worlds. The sidewalk in front of your house is nothing more than a thought manifestation you are having, but heres the kicker, everybody walking on that sidewalk with you is manifesting the same sidewalk at the same time in their own thought story. There is no seperation from your thought world to their's as relates to that sidewalk at that moment. By sharing the thought of that side walk, by merely walking on it with others, your minds are so intimately connected that you are both creating the same exact thing at the same exact time and sharing it as a common reality experience. You may relate to it in differant ways, i.e. one may be thinking what a long walk it is to my car and I'm so tired, while another is experiencing happiness and has a spring his step full of energy and life, but you are both relating to the same thought manifestation that you are both creating in common at that moment. Only through the deepest intimacy, the deepest connection is this possible. It is an intimacy so profound that there is no seperation between you and the other, or the sidewalk you are both walking on would not be possible. What you think is you, if you are bothing thinking the sidewalk into existance together then you are both the sidewalk at the same time. You are both waves rolling along the same ocean.
If the entire physics of our shared reality are nothing more than thought made manifest, then you are nothing more than thought made manifest, and if you and I are nothing more than thought made manifest then we must be one being, we must be one living mass of interconnected thought worlds in order to be feeling and seeing the same sidewalk under our feet at this moment, each of us a part of each other in the whole. If this is true then it makes being sad, even if it is a conciuos choice, doubly absurd.
Our whole reality is a wonderous absurdy :-)
